Richard Osman’s first novel is witty & amusing. It is innovative too to have four oldies as the central characters. Probably best defined as “cosy crime” it also has moments of pathos. The retirement community where the novel is set is rather unlikely although perhaps there are places like this where everyone is beautifully cared for.
