Current slide {CURRENT_SLIDE} of {TOTAL_SLIDES}- Best Selling in Binoculars & Monoculars
This is the cheapest way of seeing the Andromeda Galaxy and the moons of Jupiter. You would need to spend many times this price for a monocular of superior optical quality. For all purposes except close-range observation of wildlife a monocular is better than binoculars - your eyes will get used to it fairly quickly and the weight is reduced by more than half. If you have big pockets it will fit snugly - about the size of a water bottle, and much lighter. I keep one in my coat whenever I go out, and frequently whip it out to look at something on the horizon or in the night sky. I get some weird looks but it's pretty great. In all seriousness, if you are thinking of buying a telescope but don't want to spend hundreds of pounds, this little gizmo will give you a better experience than just about any "cheap" scope. There is a x20 version, which will give a slightly better view of astronomical objects, but it requires a much steadier hand. This x10 magnification is a good all-rounder that will serve well for birdwatching and stargazing alike. There are some "vintage" ones floating around on Ebay that look cool, but they may be damaged, lack the lens coatings, and are heavier. The lightness is a major advantage when using this in a standing position. This is the pocket telescope you have been looking for.Read full review
