My laptop is not that old so it came to me as a surprise when it's headphone socket just stopped working. But I had no warranty for that so my only option was get a USB socket. I actually live in Canada and my past experiences with Canada Post have been terrible. My packages never come on time and once a package was stuck in Vancouver for an actual month (I checked the package ID for its location). Surprisingly, my USB socket actual came relatively early and quite close to the earliest date for arrival. That was a nice addition but doesn't really say anything about the product so here I go. Well, what is there really to say? The USB socket works really nicely though I think the sound is slightly off. (Obviously you're own earphones will probably affect the quality of your sound but it's still pretty good). I do like the fact that when you plug it in, it lights up and when you're listening to something, it blinks so you can tell it's connected and if something is playing without you listening in. I've just started using it so I can't tell you anything about how long it lasts but it if does start acting weird really quickly, I'll update this review. So far, I'm pleased with what I got and I like that it's really louder than when I put my headphones in the original headphone socket when it worked well.Read full review

Don't expect too much, does it's job, just enough power for condenser microphones, but didn't last very long. Good alternative currently are Syba audio adapters.
