We love Scandinavian TV and movies and were familiar with most of the actors in this movie. I just happened to notice this DVD when looking for something else, so I thought since we have liked most everything made in Norway this would be a treat being the first disaster movie made in Norway. We were not disappointed. The scenery, of course, was breathtaking, but the quality of the movie was just as good, if not better, than any disaster movie made in the U.S. The character development and special effects met, if not exceeded, our expectations. The DVD also includes extra features showing the making of the movie, which is always a nice bonus. Looking forward to "The Quake" which is being released in March for another great Norwegian disaster film.

Great Thriller, another one added to my collection. This one set in Scandanavia. A different look at this type of weather disaster movie. Very enjoyable.

I enjoyed this movie very much, even though it is a Norweigan foreign movie. Based on a true story. Lots of action, great characters. Excellent acting. Get building of suspense. Enjoyed it so much I even purchased "The Quake" the sequel.

Everything you need to know is in the previews-- literally. Very boring movie, I wouldn't recommend spending any of your time on it, & I generally enjoy cheesy b movies lol. You've been warned.

I saw the sequel first The Quake before I saw The Wave. I normally don’t like sub titles. But these 2 movies were an exception. I loved them both! I do think that The Quake was the best earthquake movie I’ve ever seen. So naturally I ordered The Wave movie after that.😊

I was impressed with this movie. For a foreign movie that deal's with a natural tragedy of this magnitude, I was surprised. Although it is not a world disaster, the scenery of the fiord and mountains takes you there and helps you realize the situation that the people are in living near the water. One scene where Kristian and a woman he is trying to save is very real. His reaction when he regains consciousness is perfect. Of course it is a foreign film and for me the only drawback I had is that there are sub-titles which caused me to miss some action parts.

After viewing "The 5th Wave" I read the trilogy and quickly began to wish they'd followed the book more than veering of in their own direction. However, I did still find the movie entertaining, I really enjoy Chloë and her acting talent. I bought this DVD for my daughter to gift for Christmas because she's formed an obsession with this series. I really hope to see book two and thre on video at some point.

Besides the fact that the actors are not speaking English... it is a good riveting, action packed movie...

It is in norwegian with english subtitles so you have to enjoy or not mind that part of it. The fact that it was a norwegian movie was why I bought it. I though the first half set up was pretty good. The disaster is virtually certain to occur eventually, but like an earthquake, no one knows when. The second half landslide/tsunami plot with a fairy tale ending struck me as so unrealistic as to border on the preposterous.
