As soon as this charger showed up I put it to work on 4 ...x 5.0ah Makita 18v batteries that were all very low on charge. The charger handled it no problem and had all batteries back to full charge in the time frame expected for each 5.0ah battery. The batteries themselves never became hot and the charger only became mildly warm which is to be expected. I am very pleased with this charger and it is extremely good value. Too early to call on lifetime of the unit but I think it will be very good. it seems to be a quality unit, it is very well made.

This charger is perfect for my batte...ries as it is quick and has a fan to cool the battery when you put it on charge as the battery is hot as it comes off the drill. Then when the battery is full the fan cools it down so the battery is ready to use again.
