The unit I got was an asian version with no English instructions - no big deal as it's not hard to setup. I have glasses, and the unit easily fits over them - although I expect it would be more effective for those who don't need glasses. It would be nice if the focus adjustment allowed me to not need my glasses, but no such luck. The unit is a little on the heavy side, so wearing it for extended periods may be hard. The controller on the side of the unit is good, but a remote is cheap to get and worth considering. Graphics are ok, but not amazing. On the good side - well it can be pretty immersive. Try the roller coaster ride and you'll see what I mean. An interesting glimpse of the future - it may very well not use this technology, but immersive entertainment ala 'holo-deck' is a natural progression from sitting in front of a tv screen.Read full review
It's light and it works for most of the part, but:
You need a Facebook account to take advantage of oculus apps. The hand controller needs constant calibration!!! It's OK if you can get one for a good price on ebay, but you will be using the side tracking pad for most of the time.
The item feels plasticy but you accept that it had to be made as light as possible for comfort reasons. It does however fit well and is comfortable once you get used to it.
I have only used the Oculus free apps for this so far and the experience is so/so. I suspect that once the novelty factor of using a VR device wears off, that I will use it less and less unless the apps markedly improve the experience.
Still early days. Glad I got it though as it is no doubt fun to have and use although I was not blown away as much as I had anticipated.
It works great on my galaxy s6 for about 10 minutes then phone shuts down due to it being too hot.. Not sure if s7 works better.
Other than that it works and is much better quality than other VR headsets on the market.
