The band goes introspective with "Unforgiven" and proves that they can write a ballad with "Nothing Else Matters", which succeeds better than one might expect. --Sid Smith This link will take you offin a new window.

Additional Information
Metallica's sixth record, an incredible convergence of pop sensibilities and authentic metal fire, spawned many hits and dominated MTV.
For me the songs, particularly the lyrics are just amazingly good. Also this is Heavy Metal which can and does encompass softer songs as well. So an excellent choice for anyone coming from a more mainstream genre as well as just a great album for Heavy metal fans. If I'm right I believe this is like their most critically acclaimed album. It's easy to hear why! "Nothing else matters" and "Unforgiven" are my two favourite tracks. Kirk Hammetts vocals are just brilliantly suited to the job :)
