I bought the raspberry Pi because I wanted to have a computer thta would connect to my TV screens and be capable of emulating computer games.
This exceeds my expectations, it is tiny and very powerful. 4 USB connnections and HDMI and expansion capabilities combined woith a strong vibrant online community makes this a great device.
I have given it to my son as he is doing an internship with RR in Germany and in addition to being able to play thousands of games he can insert another Micro SD with boot rom and do coding.
I am very satisfied with my purchase. I bought a clear acrylic case to make it safer for handling.
These little.things are amazing for their size and price. For a low cost you can make your self a noise free, easily hidable media player/HTPC.
My first Pi got a healthy dose of the OSMC media operating system. It was then customised to run RetroPi for old school emulator fun and a background Octopi server for when it's plugged into me 3DPrinter.
It handles it all with no fuss and no slow downs. Amazing product!
Awesome little computer - so many possibilities. Jam-packed with features. Highly recommended for DIY projects, gaming or just a backup operating system.
I use this as a media center. As far as basic computers go its great. It can play videos and browse the internet. You will need to buy a real power supply, and a micro SD card for it. After these, you've still spent less than $100. The only down side is that the Pi has no heat sink, and if you do anything remotely demanding on it it will overheat. Overall highly recommend.
I’m still working on this project, but l can inform that the Raspberry Pi is working just as required for my project. The hold up is that my 7” screen is not getting a signal from both outlets. This is not a Raspberry Pi problem but is at the 7” screen. The software added by me works and yes l am learning more about this Raspberry Pi as l am proceeding with my project.
If you are looking for a small pc to be a stand alone this Raspberry Pi is just what you are looking for. It will do the job l want in my project plus more, the fun part is just find out what this little Raspberry Pi can do. Enjoy 73
