After reading reviews of this printer it looked like it was just what I was looking for. I have installed numerous printers in the past and this one was the most trying one I have set up. It may have just been this printer as others had not reported any problems. All that said, once I had it working it produced really beautiful prints, and I am absolutely rapt in it's performance. I have been printing and selling my own photo's for about 15 years feel confident that this printer will serve me well into the future.

It has no scanner, is huge and was very expensive for what you get. I bought it online so I was going on my previous Canon which uses the same sized inks (so I could change over), but it is nowhere near as good as my previous printer/scanner in the same Pixma model group.

Let's get it straight. I love the printer. BUT initially it would not print PDF files. Even though on checking the net it seems a recognised problem Canon in my opinion did not have the answer as I contacted them twice. In the end I downloaded a Microsoft driver which gave me a very basic interface but it works. I understand if you convert the file to read you can print from there.

As a photo printer the quality is great. The six colour tanks I think do help with the lab quality prints, and also prints monochrome well. I would find that printing black and white photos on my other printer or even some print labs my photos would have a weird hue to them, sometimes greeny but this has printed some brilliant black and whites, also it has printed sepia well. The ink tanks lasted much longer than I thought, my first job for the printer was to print out a heap of A4 sized prints.

I upgraded to the IP8760 after owning 3 much loved MX926's. It took a bit of ironing out some issues to get it connected via wirless over my router but once it was connected it worked perfectly well. The print quality was noticeably better than the MX926 line for plain paper stock, and when printing images direct onto CD/DVD discs. The colours are more vivid, the black is deeper, and the resolution of print is noticeably higher (finer, sharper, better colour) than I was used to. It is expensive so unless you are specifically wanting an A3 and CD/DVD printer, I would suggest something cheaper. The quality here really is great though, and it uses the same ink as MX926 (the PGI-650XL and CLI-651XL line).
