Since it is washable, I find it cost effective for the long therm.
If only it was cheaper it would be perfect.
For all the haters, I still think K&N filters are work it. Replaced a "clean" OEM from this Legacy, and car idles better. In several years, never had any issues with oil on sensors.
Smoother running because of Lower pressure than std filter
My Subaru 3.6R ran much more smoothly after installation of the K&N filter cf the standard one, as the pressure drop across it is much lower. The K&N filter is more expensive than std filters but it is reusable many times if an inexpensive cleaning kit is bought, making he K&N filter a bargain.
