'Machine Head' is the sixth studio album released by the English rock band Deep Purple, released in 1972. 'Machine Head' is Deep Purple's most commercially successful album, topping the charts in several countries, including number one in the UK. It features 'the mother of all guitar riffs' in 'Smoke on the Water', which was influenced by the Montreux casino fire during a Frank Zappa concert in 1971.

    Worthwhile, but not a necessary purchase if you already own a copy of the album.

    This CD is a remastered issue of the original album, not to be confused with the 40th Anniversary 2012 remasters which contains several discs. There has already been the Roger Glover 1997 remix of the album, and to my ears I do not consider that this version sounds any better than the 1997 issue, HOWEVER if you do not already own this on CD or you only own the original CD issue, then this is a worthwhile buy. The sound quality is marginally better and has slightly better clarity, thereby giving the listener an experience more akin to listening to the original vinyl issue of the album (which I own). If you want a CD version to add to your vinyl copy, or you don't already own a Cd version of the album, then this is all you need. If you want to outlay more money, than the 40th Anniversary issue is an option, if you can find it.

    Item arrived earlier than expected ! Born in 1965, I was listening to Deep Purple by 1972. (noisy neighbours), To hear this music now it brings back fond memories & it beats the music of today! Other websites have not been able to deliver this music to me / lost in transit they say. I seem to always end up going back to EBAY cause they seem to (come up with the goods) Thanks EBAY.
