I'll start with the pros and cons and then lead into a quick review. Pro's: - Small yet powerful. - All the features most people would want or need. - Excellent quality - Reasonable price considering quality, features and manufacturer. - You can change the boost measurement to 'PSI' or 'KPa' depending on what you are use to. - You can set a pattern to visually show your boost either on a bar or a graph or leave the pattern to '0' and have it only show the numbers with no visual representation. - The mount that comes with it allows for great mounting options to cater for either a stealthy install or an 'out in the open' install. - You can invert the text on the screen so the text won't be upside down, allowing you to have the controller mounted with the knob on either the left side or the right side depending on how you would prefer to set it up. - Looks great; especially for a street car. - You can alter the brightness so its not glaring at you at night if you have it mounted facing directly towards you. Con's: (These are personal con's and won't apply to everyone. These aren't con's in my opinion either.) - There are cheaper electronic boost controllers out there (I had one) that can do the same job although personally, they don't 'look the part', are often a lot more bulky than this unit, and may sacrifice quality. - Because this is a small unit, there is a sensor box that will need to be mounted in the engine bay somewhere. - No 'boost by gear' feature. Boost by gear is obviously not needed and as far as I know, is only featured in top of the line, high end controllers like the eboost2 which does cost a fair bit more than this unit. This feature doesn't effect me at all but it might deter those that are looking for this feature in their controller. Quick Review: For the price, this controller has everything most people would want and need and is of excellent quality. The controller looks amazing once mounted and being able to see your boost curve (if you have the 'graph' pattern selected) and any fluctuations, allows for great visual feedback on how your turbo is performing under certain boost levels through the rev range. Example: Full throttle from low rpm all the way to red line allows you see when you boost comes on, how its behaving at full throttle (fluctuations) and whether its tapering off at the end of your rev range. It also allows you visually see any spikes or boost creep which is great for diagnostics. Like most electronic boost controllers, this one features a warning indicator that you can set for a certain boost target, which will sound an alarm if it is reached. One step further, you can also set a 'limiter' as a percentage to counter this 'over boost', to drop the boost level by what ever percentage you have entered. This is very useful for those of us that are particular in not over boosting their car. The gain feature makes the car's boost come on harder and certainly makes that initial boost 'kick' feel great, even for those of us with lower powered cars. You just have to make sure its not set too high otherwise you will get a boost spike. Overall, I love this controller and would recommend it to anyone with a turbo street car that wants all the necessary features (plus lots more) and great quality at a reasonable price.Read full review
