Tweezers

Tweezers

One of the most versatile tools in your make-up bag, tweezers are the perfect item to use for managing flawless brows, while also being handy for keeping in-grown hairs in check and other tasks, such as removing splinters and applying fake eyelashes. From the material they are made from to their shape, there are multiple factors to consider when shopping for a new pair of tweezers or a tweezers set.

Tweezers Materials

Many of the tweezers available out there are made from stainless steel, which is often preferred because the material is non-rusting and it doesn't irritate the skin. Titanium tweezers are a good choice if you're looking for a tool that is resistant to high temperatures while being lightweight. Finally, tweezers made of hardened steel are highly durable while being magnetic at the same time.

Types of Tweezers

Tweezers are differentiated by their tips, and the main types available are slant-tip, pointed-slant tip, pointed tip and wide grip tweezers. The most popular type of tweezers is the slant-tip kind, which is the classic style and is probably the first thing that comes to mind about "tweezers." It is what you should expect to get in a manicure set. The tips have an angled edge and you can hold them point-up for extra precision. Pointed-slant tip tweezers are similar to slant-tip ones, but they have a finer point for enhanced precision. Pointed-tip models are very sharp and work well for removing splinters, whereas wide grip tweezers have a slant tip and an ergonomic design, being easier to maneuver.

Tweezer Body Materials

Besides looking at the tip, you should also make sure that the body of the tool  feels good in your hand and is easy to manipulate. Many tweezers are made of surgical stainless steel, but you can also find models with an epoxy coating or a matte finish. For an extra firm grip, look for a pair of tweezers with non slip rubber pads.
