Suction is amazing! I also own a Dyson cordless vaccuum which I love but this vaccuum has sucked up some of the finest dust I've seen. We have some loose carpet which this vaccuum actually lifts off the floor. Cord retraction is great, barrel rights itself, vaccuum is not heavy. Like most vacs would like cord a bit longer but that's what extension leads are for. If you are not used to emptying a canister like this has it may be a bit tricky at first but there are instructions on the actual barrel, no need to read the manual.

Suction might be the same start to finish, but it's nothing great. Good thing it is easy to empty, because you keep having to do that. Very manoeuvrable . Miele or Wertheim blow it out of the water for suction. Biggest plus is that you don't leave crap in it for weeks on end, which we do with the Wertheim. Make your choice.

A bit pricey (although I got a great discount) but the suction is better than any other vacs I have owned. Best performer for picking up dog hair from carpets. I like the idea of not having to replace filters. My first Dyson and if it lasts me 10 yrs then I'll continue to buy. Time will tell if it's worth paying the extra because replacing parts and tools is expensive - and there is a lot of plastic in this.

I have owned an upright for many years. Though this machine can get under beds and the dusting tool is amazing, suction does not compare. Still very happy with the purchase and the product. Would recommend it if it’s your first Dyson!

It is incredibly noisy, has no brush attachment and worst of all has a very nasty habit of dumping all the dirt onto your newly vacuumed floor when removing the canister from the wheel base. I regret buying this vacuum cleaner!
