The strengths are that there are a variety of activities that engage the students in meaningful encounters in pairs, groups and whole class communication., The themes are very much what adults want to talk about especially on an academic track. The themes are timely., 1. The Power of Music 2. Nutrition and Human Health 3. Themes of Geography 4. Are You Getting the Sleep You Need? 5. Laughter is the Best Medicine 6. Google: A Business Dream Come True, There are good tips for new teachers as well in the teacher section on how to start a chapter or implement the exercises in the lesson plan. Nicely done., I am especially enthused by the academic content focus. I am a firm believer that relevant and meaningful material is not only motivation to those on a degree path, but that language acquisition itself is actually enhanced by the meaningful content., The vocabulary is presented well. The students see the words and how they are used in everyday situations. They get guided practice is using them., As to the content, I find it accurate and pedagogically sound. The variety of activities appeal to as many learning styles as possible to address within the limits of a printed text., The greatest strengths being that the majority of the activities are NOT teacher-centered, thank goodness! Thus, the students themselves are more actively engaged in the learning process then with other books that I have used., In general, the activities and exercises appear easy enough to do, have clear directions and purpose, and are of adequate variety. Effort has been made to include all kinds of formats and styles to cater to various student populations and the reality of college course work, good!!
