This game, while divisive, is a really great experience for those Mario fans who are looking for something different. It’s a little annoying when Mario falls off cliffs without trying to hold on sometimes, and some of the controls are a little janky, but overall, the uniqueness and attention to detail are on point for a 2002 game. I highly recommend.

A decent platformer which provides a great deal of challenge, but completable by the diligent. Similar to Super Mario 64, but introducing a new mechanic which can allow Mario to hover after a jump, move quickly or jump really high. Though the two latter aren't used too often. The game is very colourful, the graphics are good and the gameplay is tight, though at times a bit frustrating. I really like the hub world and the inividual areas they offer unique challenges, though collecting red coins and chasing down an antagonist are in each area.

I recently as of the date this was written bought a Nintendo Game Cube having no games come with it I quickly sought out eBay to meet my demands of some classic turn of the 21st century entertainment a happily came across 'Super Mario Sunshine!' For a mere 20 dollars (Australian) I was a few short weeks away from enjoying such an auspicious game of it's time. Upon receiving Mario Sunshine I quickly slapped that sucker in and sat right down and played for what seemed like an era of exciting nostalgic fun from my younger years. Today Mario Sunshine is quite hard to get your mitts on but if you can, and do you'll love the experiences that await you in this exciting epic from Nintendo.
The game cube and the graphics quality of games like this one is what makes the console shine ( sorry, no pun intended.) so well. Sunshine is a glorious outing into the world of Mario which adds so much more playability to the franchise. I like the way this game delivers hours of fun, special moves, and does not come over as a straight platformer, but more as a proper adventure. Weapons and enemy,s are mostly unique to this game with a certain amount of tough challenges along the way. Anyone looking for a fun game will love this one. Mario never dissapoints.
