The only thing that's bad with the CD's is they don't automatically put themselves in the cd player. This set has every single episode there was and then some, you even get the pilot that shows the way it was on the very first taping. This set is amazing, if you enjoy "Leave it to Beaver" you have to get this set. I realize these sets are a little pricey but it's worth every penny, it's all you'll have to buy to get all the episodes and they will last you for years to come. The best part is the whole family can watch and enjoy them without worrying about violence. It's a simple time with lots of love and understanding. I love it and so will you.

The Leave it to Beaver Complete Series consists of 37 disks packaged in six folders of six disks each (one per season). A 37th "bonus" disk is packaged separately. All are enclosed in a nice cardboard case. Each DVD contains six or seven shows, with the ability to watch the whole disk or an individual episode on it. Included with each season is a guide to the shows, including a brief synopsis and pointer to the disk containing it. The videos are all quite well mastered, much better than what you can record off the air, and of course contain no commercials. The bonus material is interesting, and includes cuts of the actors talking about their remembrances of making the show. It also includes the "It's a Small World" pilot. Each season's plastic folder contains two disks overlapped on the inside front and back cover plus a center leaf containing the 3rd and 4th disks. Apparently, there is a tendency for the plastic tabs holding the DVD to break off on the center leaf, either due to an assembly malfunction or during shipment. Mine arrived unopened, but with 4 tabs broken and thus with 4 disks unanchored in their folder. Luckily, none of them were badly marred. Bottom line: If you're a Leave it to Beaver fan, this complete compilation is really well worth the price.Read full review
It makes no difference wheather you were raised in the city or the 'burbs, the economic or social status of your household, nor the strick guidelines set, or relegious beliefs- The Cleaves hit hard. The glaring gaudy surrealism of the series unwittingly, yet simoutaneiously, crafted a poularation through identiy. In doing so, the very itpitism of Cleaverism has withstood the test of time. Who, among the baby boomers can't readily identify to the numerious and exact escapades via your black and white Motorola? As sureal as the Cleaver household was the post war depiction of Americana was after all, only tv. Yet as much as things change they often remain the same, hence the shows timeless captivation, perhaps coupled to a yurning for what we were. In my own personal twisted idealogy, perhaps the first reality show, subdued under the context of "no elbows on the table" and pearl necklaces. May we be excused? Leave It To Beaver took us from Give-a-Show projectors to the tedious selection of the lastest Top 40 hit aa many plots revolved around Waly, Eddy, my favorite. Again the writers cleverly subjecting viewers to nothing more than mirroring the eneitable..growing up. Most all of us growing up can relay to the endearment held for a sibling's friend, some fondly, other not quite so. While not a devout follower of The Cleaver Contiguant [equal to the Star Treky fandomonia] for many boomers, such as myself, and for generations beyond, plentyful rerun synacation welcomed us all into the living rooms of Desi and Lucy, Ozzie and Harrette, Rob and Laura, identical cousins and our three sons. All great examples of "cute" clairvoyances reflecting the tymes as scripted by the Desi/Thomas/Reiners in their prime, and maybe.... "ours" as well. Of all, there are three serials that continue to flicker brightly above their counter parts. Two of which are; that tiny kichen of Ralph and Aice and the courthouse of Mayberry. One, for it's true grit personia of real survival in the face of heart warming intent often gone array, countered with relentless forgiving devotion. The other, for it's illresistable luny escapades countered by the ever-preveiling good old fashion common sense. These two shows were never that far from reality in that their key "counterism" played a vital role in not only plots but provided something more- a conection between the warm glow of tubes and the not-so subcounious of the viewers. The third serial being, Leave It To Beaver, is no exception. For behind those Revue Studio backdrops was our front porch. As scripts were finalized around the writer's table they could have well parlayed convesation over our own diner tables. We identified then and as now, and that is precesley why these three shows are in fact, timeless. With certainty others would cast their perceptions into our living rooms from the home spun Waltons to the sted fast bluntness of Archie Bunker. Barney Millner I consider to be the very last tv show worthy of my time and last year unplugged tv from my home entirly- and for the final time. While all tv reflects the tymes, or attempts to, my time- with 57 channels and there's nothing on- is worth more. May I be excused? Don't excuse yourself from a panarama of the way we were, so far from the real world.....yet so very close. I anxiously await the package arrival. "Beevur....Gitt/Down/Here......."Read full review
When Leave It to Beaver was on original aring, my age matched Jerry Mathers' and I related directly to his adventures. To see those memories again is a great thing. From a simpler time, and a family setting, the grins are still there. A nice clean video, and the complete shows, without commercial interruption or syndication scene clipping.

I am nearly the same age as Jerry Mathers. When I was a kid I set up a little TV at the end of my bed, and put a timer on it so it would click on at exactly the time Leave it to Beaver started in the morning. So I would wake up to this show. Recently my wife and I discovered this on Netflix. We had such a great time watching a few episodes each night when we were both at home. It's so refreshing to see something on TV that is wholesome, bundled with a little bit of wisdom and leaves you with a lingering smile after its over. We were crushed when Netflix removed this series a few months back. I am so much looking forward to this. We can't watch anything on broadcast TV since it's so much garbage that it's not worth wading through it to try to find anything good.
Finally, the complete six seasons of this classic television show in one boxed set. Though the picture and sound transfer quality is very good, there are a couple of episodes with lines and artifacts that should have been "cleaned-up" when the transfers were initially made. The "re-mastering" leaves a bit to be desired. That said, the episodes are sharp and uncut. The included extras are fun to watch and listen to. A bit pricey, but If you are a true LITB fan, then this is a must.

I am almost the same age as Jerry Mathers and grew up watching Leave It To Beaver. Ward is the father I always wished I'd had. For some people, the values and plots may seem silly and dated. But the story lines came from actual experiences of the children of the writers. I went through many of the same things as a child in the 50's. It was a much simpler time. For me, the stories hold up and are what America needs to remember about itself and how we once were. The quality of the DVD's is very good and clear.

Hollywood needs to educate themselves by reading these reviews! THESE are the values Americans long for and our children have not been taught. We don't want the perpetual trash they constantly churn out. Wonder why society has gotten so sick? It's because we have been made to look foolish for tried and true values and morals! Ask your teenager what a moral is.....you'll see!

Classic, fun and entertainment watching the Beaver and Wally and the issues they encounter with their friends and family. Some insight into growing up in a healthy family back in the late 50's early 60's. I will always love watching these episodes over and over. One of the best from that era.
