It's early days but this unit seems to avoid the problems I've had with other jaffle makers. It toasts quickly, meaning you get a nice crisp jaffle and the filling doesn't stew. The surface is very slick, meaning it's easy to wipe clean with a paper towel. And I can't see any nooks and crannies which are going to become grease traps over time. My only minor quibbles are that the 'ready' light comes on long before the jaffles are nicely browned, and that there's no power switch, meaning as soon as you plug it in it begins to heat up.
