Great product for listening to music, but not quiet yet for voice calling.
Love these headphones, they sound fantastic and they do a great job cancelling noise while the music is playing. Perhaps the only letdown is the voice calling function, it's not good enough, in my experience making and receiving calls. I found the Beats a lot better in this area..... but the Sony is superior in every other aspect.
I listened to my friends Brand New XM4B that he purchased from The Good Guys, it was fantastic! But when I received this, I initially was happy as it looked brand new, but quickly I discovered that the sound was awful, nothing like his. The sound was actually muddy, missing mid-tones and way inaccurate high-ends. Sony dropped the game with these seconds and I opened a dispute right away but it has been ignored so far...
If you live anywhere that’s windy these aren’t for you. I got the MX4s for the noise cancelling feature, but the first walk down the street was a bad experience that was more wind noise than music. Having them connected to two devices at once sounds good but hasn’t been able to work that well for me between the Windows world and Mac / iOS ecosystem.
Arguably the best ANC headphones in its price range, even better on special/discounts. Value.
Love the SONY headphone mobile app, great equalizer allowing customisation. Easy to pair and use straight out of the box, long battery life, fast charging USB-C, great carry case, improvement on comfort from XM3s, plus nifty features like holding your hand over the right ear cup to chat to someone is pretty cool. Sound is amazing without leaving the obvious out.
My only comment, would have loved an improvement on design compared to the XM3s. The Bose 700s are great too, depending on personal preference. i.e. Bose has a more updated design. SONY positively surprised everyone with the XM3s, and have improved even more with the XM4s.
The Sony WH-1000XM4 Wireless Noise Cancelling Headphones are the most comfortable headphones I’ve owned.
I mostly use them while watching TV so I’m not disturbing others. The sound quality is superb and immersive as well as being gentle on the ears. Bluetooth connectivity is seamless.
I’m still getting used to the controls but absolutely love the remote volume control.
