Current slide {CURRENT_SLIDE} of {TOTAL_SLIDES}- Best Selling in Calculators
Disclaimer: I am a calculator "nut" and I love HP. That said, IMO, HP made a big mistake when they discontinued this calculator and they should consider reintroducing it with a larger, multi-line, pixelated display. The display limitations are really my only ding on this unit but, that was the technology at the time. I rated the HP 16c as a "good value" but, that is subjective. I found one for a "reasonable" price but, I had to search for several weeks to find one in near mint and with original book for a price I was willing to pay. They are considered a must-have by HP calculator collectors so, sellers are asking a bundle. Look for "auctions" and "make an offer" to get a fair price. For me, converting between Hex, Oct and Bin are second nature but converting to Dec is a pain to do manually. The HP 16c makes this instantaneous. Also working with 2's compliment numbers is a breeze. A huge help with logical design, as well. And it's just the coolest in the geekiest possible way. :)Read full review

I am impressed with the functionality of this calculator and am surprised that HP (or another mfgr) doesn't still make this or one similar to it... Even in 2018, a standalone unit like this has its advantages over a smartphone app that emulates the HP 16C! This will certainly come in handy when I go back to college for computer science,

The device is an excellent computer science device , allowing introductory type familiarity with manipulating numbers at the bit level, while providing capability to do assembly language type programming activities, remembering this is a vintage calculator going back 40 years or so.

Well HP did the best calculators ever with the Voyager series. This model is unique for computer scientists. Although it is 20 years old, it is working fine and looks almost like knew. Dual plastic injected keys never fade and it shows. They are perfect. Definitely a great addition to any HP collector.

Designed for the digital and computer architect back during a time it was cumbersome to perform many of these operationa by hand. This was a handy tool for assembly language programmers, microprocesor designers and digital logic design. Yes it is an obsolete piece of technology but it still is a invaluable hand held learning tool. I would pick up a second one as a backup in a heartbeat !

The greatest calculator EVER made!! I have several. I also have the app on Android, ios, Windows and Linux. Wish hp would start producing these again. My one at home has the same battery after 5 years.

This calculator was sold under the name "HP16C Computer Scientist" and although I am not a computer professional I snapped it up when I saw one for sale on eBay because it is very hard to find and it was being offered at a good price. One reason I wanted one was to learn more about binary arithmetic, number bases, Boolean operations, bit manipulation and masking. There also happens to be a paper available on factoring numbers up to 19 digits on this machine, and I have always found that intriguing. This is my first purchase on eBay and I am very satisfied. It happens that only a couple of weeks later I found a brand-new Hewlett-Packard manual for this calculator, also on eBay. So I plan to keep shopping.
Never a calculator quite like this dedicated to computer scientists and built to last at least 50 years!
