The conference was probably the most representative gathering of shippers throughout the United States which has ever been held. Representatives of organizations having a combined membership of more than one million shippers handling live stock, packing house products, coal, grain, grain products, lumber, lumber products, petroleum, petroleum products, furniture, brick, dairy products, fruits, vegetables, hardware, and various other commodities aggregating more than 75% of the tonnage of the coutry were assembled in this meeting.
