This love story begins on one of the beautiful British Columbia gulf islands during the time of free love and flower power. The young lovers enjoy an idyllic sailing cruise among the islands before returning to Quixote Island to say farewell. Subsequently, the once-tranquil life on the island is shattered by land-use squabbles. Newcomers to the island have established their own agenda, which is to save the forestland their way much to the consternation of and condemnation by old-timers on the island. The love affair is eventually rekindled, but in an unstable time. Although fiction, the story was inspired by real people and real events. The author is a second generation British Columbian with extensive kwledge of the west coast acquired from over forty years of living and travelling thereon.
