Book 3 is the best in the series - being split into 2 books has pros & cons
I bought this product because, well, I'd finished book 2 in the series :) I chose to buy the book in two parts because I can imagine the consolidated version being such a big book to physically handle (e.g. lying down on your back reading the book may be difficult!). For those who don't know, book three (A Storm of Swords) in the series 'A Song of Ice and Fire' was so big that, for the UK release, it was split into two books ('Steel and Snow; being part 1 and 'Blood and Gold' being part 2). However, the down side is that buying two books are more expensive than one, but if you can afford it, it's much more practical to buy the 2 parts (plus they look good on the book shelf). I have read the first four books of the Song of Ice and Fire series, and book 3 (this book being the first part of book 3) is by far the best. Not going to spoil anything, but I couldn't put them down. Very soon I'll join the legion of Martin fans waiting for him to finish the series (I think he has two more books to write)!Read full review
The book came damaged on all sides and I bought it as a gift and I had no time to buy another so I had to give it to him anyway. So thanks for nothing !

Great book; worth a read especially if you are a fan of the show
Great book, especially enjoyable if you have seen the series first as it a complex book with many characters. Having watched the series, it allowed me a further understanding of the show and the characters, including their backstories and inner thoughts, allowing for a better understanding of the context of the show.
