When John walks into Anne's bookstore in Brittany, he is smitten. For her part, Anne is attracted to this mysterious American who never speaks of why he moved to Brittany. She tries to keep her distance lest his presence interfere with her search for a husband and is soon torn between John and her own past.
Jan Gabrielson practiced family law in Los Angeles, then taught expository writing to graduate students at California State University, Dominguez Hills. Having lived in France as a student, he travels regularly to Brittany and has come to love the region, its people, and their culture.
