Christine Perkell (Ph.D. Harvard) is Professor of Classics at Emory University. She is the editor of Reading Vergil's Aeneid: An Interpretive Guide and author of The Poet's Truth: A Study of the Poet in Vergil's Georgics as well as of articles on various aspects of Vergil's poetics and of lamentation in epic poetry.
