A former marketing and public relations executive, David L. Rosenbloom dropped out of the corporate business world in 1990 and became a self-taught custom furniture designer and craftsman. For the last seven years, he has battled kidney disease and recently received a successful transplant. A graduate of the University of Rochester, he and his wife live in Los Angeles.
