A young American's strategic business plan was concise, comprehensive and highly profitable. His life revolved around his work. It did t include love. But love has a way of changing plans. A newly hired secretary is more talented and problematic than he could have envisioned from her resume. He falls in love even when he is determined to resist. And the company he created out of a MBA handbook which made him rich, that company has a problem. An established foreign competitor in the international colored gemstones industry is intent on regaining that which for hundreds of years provided his family with power and riches. He declares a silent war to regain that which once belonged to him. Unfortunately for our hero, igrance is excuse for incompetence when entering the arenas of love and war. Predictable defeats will teach him lessons he could t have imagined. His journey will be filled with intrigue, chaos and ultimately death.
Penname Richard Jan: After a number of career choices which included teaching and several entrepreneurial adventures, some quite profitable and some complete disasters, I spent ten years in the colored gemstone business eventually becoming the COO of a publicly traded natural resource company. Our product was natural sapphires which were mined in the mountains of Montana, cut and polished in Sri Lanka, and sold from the diamond district in New York City. My experiences have provided a rich background and a wealth of characters, enough to fill several books.
