There are times in our lives when reason falls away, when we're seemingly paralyzed in propulsion towards a certain fate, and it's only in retrospect that we gain perspective on ourselves in those moments. There are times in our lives when it seems as if we're being pushed along by a wave relentless and irrepressible, completely beyond our control, and to do anything but hope to ride along with it seems an exercise in futility. There are times in our lives when we are faced with very certain clarity on our choices, our motives, our velocities and our destinies should we deign to take certain paths. These are times of fortune and fear. These are times of courage and coercion. These are times that define us, that destroy us, that deify us, that determine us. These are times of instinct. Of intuition. Of trust. Of faith. These are times of danger maps. And these are the times reflected in this collection of poetry.
