Very detailed and plenty of useful information. Focuses a little too much on convincing the reader to do arts and crafts things like making plans on multiple layers of tracing paper, large plans on butchers' paper to hang on the wall, etc. It does however cover why you should do many of the recommendations (and most importantly, what will happen if you do not) which ends up being very informative. The advice is fairly high level, and covers the concepts and why they are important rather than technical details. For example it is explained why swales are important, as well as the principles on which they work, but does not provide detail on different construction methods. The book is aimed more at those who are new to permaculture. Those very familiar with the concepts and looking for tips and tricks to refine their knowledge probably won't glean a lot from it, but anyone looking to get an overview of what permaculture is will find it very informative.Read full review
