Additional information
Thanks to an endorsement from Franz Ferdinand (and a little song called "A Girl Like You" by frontman Edwyn Collins), Scottish pop band Orange Juice gets all the name recognition, but within the world of taut, jangly, slightly funky art-rock, fellow Glaswegians Josef K are surely as important as their citrusy brethren. Josef K were never the easiest band to track down stateside, so Domino's 22-track ENTOMOLOGY is a more than welcome, if not outright essential, reissue. Consisting of the band's obscure early singles for famed Postcard Records, tracks from the band's two full-lengths, and a 1981 Peel Session, the collection isn't exactly definitive, but it's an excellent introduction to and portrait of an ignored band that, whether one notices or not, has its fingerprints all over the early 2000s' new New Wave.
