I bought this unit for bowhunting. I have already used it while hunting and it has performed perfectly. It finds satellites super quick. Once it has found the signal it can reconnect pretty much instantly after being switched off then back on. I have been leaving it on the last few times, because the batteries are lasting for ages so I just clip it on my belt and grab it to check direction or elevation etc. I installed garmins topo maps of Oz and they are fantastic and even tracks coming off firetrails etc, show up. It has heaps of features that I don't even know how to use yet but eventually Ill have a fiddle and learn them all. If you can afford it, BUY IT! you won't regret it.
The first impression is great. The reflective screen works very well on full sun and beck lite off. The menu is easy to navigate. I have not tested all to full extend yet but I will next time I go hunting. I highly recommend it.
I use mine for geocaching and have had a lot of issues with it. I think I am on my 5th unit from garmin and we are trying to figure out what is corrupting the files in it. Other people who have them have no issues. I like the device when it works like it is suppose to. Best thing is, garmin will try and fix any issues with a unit if it is not working properly.
Brought this product for its mapping capabiliies, very robust, easy to use, basic unit is a good product, the unit arrived promptly after purchase
I purchased this product as I am involved in a youth organisation where we undertake a lot of bush activities and the Garmin GPS is very helpful in plotting bush courses due to it's size readability and ease of use. A fantastic handheld GPS for outdoor use and reliability.
