Not "good" - just ok
A "thematic" story of an interlectual professor in Nazi Germany who is seduced by the regime and his own ego (and at the expense of his own dignity) to betray a Jewish friend, dismiss his first wife for a lover, and fail to help his mother in distress. Viggo, Jason and the actress playing his mother (outstanding) rely on their facial and bodily skills rather than the script. The directing is moderate, the 'pristine' sets appear rather artificial and the final 15 minutes or so is an anti-climax. The theme is everything - if that is enough for you - ok - it wasn't for me. 2 Stars.
