All that glitters isn't necessarily gold. For the young dentist Brighton Dunn and his wife Gina, that fact could become a mixed blessing. Trying to build his practice and their dream home in a virgin desert development, they and their new neighbors find that life can sometimes be more of a nightmare than the dream they had hoped for. Stalked by a reclusive female hermit and threatened by the greed of unkwn intruders, the finding of precious metals beneath the desert floor of their gated community ultimately thrusts these Home Owners Association (HOA) members into the limelight of national interest. Should they preserve the environment or live in regal splendor? Or can they have both? The best of both seems probable until outsiders decide they want a share. Balancing potential wealth with respect for the beauty and sanctity of their desert pushes the Hidden Canyon residents to the edge of their mental and physical extremes.
