Dorothy Lord Bausum Evans was born to missionary parents in Kweilin, Kwangsi, China. She was home schooled throughout her high school years and attended Carson-Newman College in Jefferson City, Tennessee. She received a B.S. in Elementary Education. Dorothy married Bobby Dale Evans in 1958 and together they served in California for seven years. In 1965 they were appointed by the Foreign Mission Board (FMB) of the Southern Baptist Convention to go as missionaries in Malaysia. Now retired after 37 years with the FMB, Dorothy and Bobby live in Independence, Missouri with their beloved Shetland Sheepdog, Laddie.
