I have reciently retired and moved from the big city to a rural area in eastern Ohio. I have always wanted to have bees, but was never in an area that would permit it, and now I am. Before I get my bees, I want to learn as much as possible about beekeeping. Hime Management I a book that provides much of that information. Hive Management explains in very simple terms not just what needs to be done to the hive, but why you are doing it. Things like what you look for the first you open the hive in the spring, or ow to tell if the queen bee is no longer able to support the hive. By readng books like this, I hope to have my hive up and producing honey by this time next year.
So far it seems pretty interesting and full of facts

After reading Bonney's book "Beekeeping" I bought Hive management. As a beginning beekeeper it gave me the information I needed to get successfully through my first couple of years in beekeeping. I still reference both of his books quite often.A must read for beginning and experienced beekeepers or those who are interested in getting started.
