That classic Tube Screamer Tone
Awesome pedal. Bought this because all the great guitarists list it in their pedal lineup. Came in immaculate condition so its probably a reissue however I have never heard any negative comments relating to reissue Ibanez pedals so I wasn't concerned Would definately buy again if it was lost or stolen. Its a classic pedal with classic tone.
Smooth or Crunch.
The Japanese versions are supposed to be the better pedals. I purchased this pedal to compare it with a Boss OD3. To me they can be adjusted to sound so alike, I would defy anyone to tell the difference. However the TS9 is considered a classic pedal and is dearer so it must be better. I dunno 'bout that. When I played in bands during the 60's, we hated the valve amps because they distorted and to our ear sounded horrible. The valves rattled and became "microphonic". Now everyone wants an amp that distorts. Distortion pedals make it sound horrible also. So get a Fender Hot Rod amp and a distortion pedal, and sound really horrible. If it is crunch you want, go for a TS9 or OD3. Meanwhile, I will continue my search for a silky smooth sound.
Must have pedal
Must have pedal for that nice rounded distortion sound. Still very sought after and hold their value esp. japan made. All you need (is love) to go with this pedal would be a digital delay and chorus, and rock n roll man.
I use this pedal when i gig its fantastic it's the pedal to use to enhance your sound for that iconic blues tone or hard rock sound
