Geno Galantay moved to Texas from Michigan 40 years ago to work for the late great Charles R. Meeker, Jr. at Charlie's Place Dinner Theatre in Fort Worth. After 5 years he was hired as Musical Director for Dinner Theatres Inc. and toured the country with shows like Fiddler On the Roof, Sound of Music, King & I, Hello Dolly, Man of La Mancha to name a few. Geno was Musical Director for Johnny Desmond, John Raitt and John Gary during the 70's & 80 s. He has written and arranged for industrial shows for Monsanto, Dr Pepper Bottlers and Pillsbury. For 15 years Geno was also the Choral Director for the live telecasts of the Miss USA/Miss Universe/Miss Teen USA Pageants for Madison Square Garden Productions. His travels for the pageants took him around the world from Singapore to Mexico, Bangkok to Taipei and even Namibia Africa. He has collaborated with Don Shook over 30 years in shows for country clubs around the five-state area. In 1991 Geno collaborated with Don on an original musical entitled Thorn in the Thicket. Don and Geno took this musical to the ASCAP workshops in New York for review. Geno has retired and makes his home in Gun Barrel City, TX with his wife of 20 years. A few private students in voice and piano keep him busy along with writing his autobiography due for release in December.
