She leaves Nanatobi's house and drives to Brad's apartment, oblivious to the fact she's being followed by lovesick Ronnie Carr, an ex-marine who's been trying to introduce himself since spotting her at the University of Maryland two months ago. He finally succeeds by pretending it's a coincidence they've come to the same apartment complex, and winds up accompanying her to the party. The mysterious blip finally disappears for good and the city is plunged into darkness.
