Every child has a right to education. Parents are encouraged to play an active role in their children's education. While many parents participate with enthusiasm in school related activities, some are barely seen in their children's school. Some people assume that parents of children placed in a self-contained setting attend IEP meetings and other school events more than parents of children in an inclusive setting. This study aimed at investigating whether there was a difference between children's self-contained placement versus inclusion setting in the amount of parental/guardian school contact per year. Data collected were for five school years. Findings of the study did t show any significant difference between parents of children in a self contained setting and inclusion setting in the number of parental/guardian school contact per year.
