Mortarium studies have ermous value in addressing a variety of themes including source, chrology, function, distribution, and as an index to trade and Romanisation. This comprehensive volume, commissioned by English Heritage, provides an over-view of mortarium studies for England, Scotland and Wales. Presented in twelve regional chapters designated by modern county boundaries, each comprises a bibliography, synthesis and recommendations for future research.
