This is a fascinating, detailed and comprehensive study of the nation's capital. Richly illustrated with over 200 colour and mochrome images, with information dating back to the formation of the London Fire Engine Establishment in 1833, it is at once a fascinating historical guide to the London Fire Brigade and a significant commentary on the design and architecture of municipal buildings.
J. B. Nadal served with the London Salvage Corps from 1969-1974. He joined London Fire Brigade in 1974 and was posted to Lewisham Fire Station onto the blue watch. Whilst he was there he redesigned the incident plan tally system, which following approval was placed on all Brigade control units and was the back-up system when computers were first installed.
