This first edition of Love, Lies and Laughter, although a slight departure from his usual n-fiction writing, Noel Guthrie has stayed close to the formula that made his Memories Series so successful. This latest work, made up of a series of delightful tales and watercolour sketches, continues the theme of chatting with the reader in text and in sketch. The key, is perhaps his common touch of exploring t only his own memories, but in striking a parallel cord in the memories of others. Although each anecdotal yarn is the work of fiction, maybe there is just an element of fact amongst the fibs. If you like a bit of old fashioned humour, this work is a delightful read.
