Til Fisher has the perfect life: a wardrobe full of designer clothes and social life to die for. But on NYE she makes the ultimate fashion faux-pas, teaming the world's sexiest shoes with a virile, unshaven suit. When the dust from the glitter ball settles, Til finds out she's pregnant and the realities of becoming a parent descend: unrelenting morning sickness and throwing hormonal tantrums at Bondi Beach's only baby store. Nine months pass and Til finds she loves being at home with her screaming bag of wind. Instead of returning to work, Til chooses a different path: one that will change her life and the lives of women all around the world. Soon Til and her beautiful baby are leaving Bondi Beach behind and heading to Paris and New York, where Til does battle with the icons of couture.
Mama Couture is Moya Kate's first novel. She is the mother of four children (all under five). Her writing has been described as similar in style to Maggie Alderson, Kathy Lette and Helen Fielding. I want to write for contemporary women. Women who know we can change the world and women who juggle their careers, their families and their commitment to make the world a better place. It was really important to me to raise international maternal health info in Mama Couture, and in the next book, we'll see Til heading off to developing countries - trading her high heels for dare I say it - hiking boots.
