Author Biography
Marcel Trudel has earned the nickname Monsieur Nouvelle-France for his pioneering work in documenting the French Regime in Canada and leading the way for later generations of historians of French Canada. Always striving for intellectual freedom, he scandalised his milieu by writing about such apostates as Voltaire early in his career. Widely respected by colleagues in French and English Canada, he has published some 30 books.
