Baby Bottles

Baby Bottles

For such tiny people, babies require multiple supplies, and the most important necessity is the right baby bottle. Bottles come in different types and brands, and sometimes it can take some trial and error to figure out which type your baby loves. Personal preference is often a factor, as is ease of care and portability. Keep your baby healthy and growing when you choose the right feeding supplies.

Glass Half Full

The oldest type of bottle is the glass baby bottle. Parents around the world still swear by this classic bottle design, and today's glass bottles offer perks that yesterday's didn't. Glass bottles are heatproof so you can warm milk easily without worry, and some models come with built-in shock absorbers so they don't break when dropped. Avoid the chemicals in some types of bottles with old-fashioned glass bottles, which are safe to use and easy to clean with mild soap and water.

Soft Silicone

Made from lightweight silicone, these bottles are dishwasher-safe and easy for tiny hands to hold onto. Meant to mimic the feel of a mother's breast, these soft bottles are heat-resistant and durable. They don't stain, they can't break, and they are generally more affordable than their glass counterparts. A perfect compromise between glass and plastic, silicone offers a safe, BPA-free option for babies who may be moving from the breast to the bottle, or to use in tandem with nursing since they most closely mimic the act.

The Perks of Plastic

Easily the most popular and affordable type of baby bottle on the market, plastic bottles are easy to use and care for, but they may not last as long as silicone or glass designs. Lightweight, portable, and available in an almost endless variety of brands, sizes, and even shapes, plastic bottles are widely available and no longer contain the chemical BPA. Brands like Dr. Browns and Avent provide natural feeding options that help reduce colic, and plastic is easy to sterilise and clean.

Feeding Time

Now that you have bottles, you need all the gear that comes with them to make feeding time a breeze. Baby bottle bags keep milk at the ready when you travel, and make on-the-go feeding seamless. When it comes to keeping bottles clean, it's important to sanitise every part of the bottle, which is where baby bottle brushes come in. These brushes come in different sizes to reach inside the bottle itself and the nipple to get both parts clean before the next feeding.
