This unit works as expected. It allows you to attach the devices power adapter to it and run the power through the ethernet cable. The downside is not a fault of the injector, but the limitations of the connected cables and adapters. The power adapter for most devices has enough power to provide for the common distance (in my case, a camera). When connected to this injector the distance is extended through the Ethernet cable. If the cable length is too long, the power adapter will not have enough power to run the extra length. A different type of injector would be needed. This injector unit works very well for short distances. Exactly how long i cannot say. I had success with a run of about 25 feet. Cannot speak for longer distances.

Product is hit or miss, Had exact PoE that worked for several years before one of the dongles becoming defective. This one did not work ever. I did not bother further with it because it was cheap. I should have tried it sooner. Actually I might try another one rather than doing the research on another solution.

Mine worked out great, but I didn't send POE 48V to the camera, but I used the DC input cable and sent the DC from one end, to the camera, (via the Ethernet Cable approx 25') broke it out of the cable with one end of these, and all is good. I did that to place both cameras on the UPS I had at one end, sharing power! Built very well, and I didn't buy a POE splitter and power supply, but used the small wall wart supply that came with the Cameras! Can't beat the price either, and showed up very quickly, and you get 4 pieces...two males and two females!!
