While mortal man must needs control The destination of his soul, It must be clearly understood: Be evil or be very good! Philip has just died and, like many others before him, he takes himself off to the Pearly Gates, thinking all will be forgiven. St Peter asks what he has done with his life, but when he hears that Phil killed himself, he sends him straight down to Hell, where he meets and converses with Lucifer. While clearly a Christian moral tale, Philip in Heaven and Hell is also a very enjoyable read. To look out for are the characterisations of St Peter and the anyed Devil.
