Not to every1s taste, but I enjoyed the series.
As with most of David Kelly's series, there is a bizarre streak to them. And this series takes the cake. Rome, Wisc. is an idyllic town (OR IS IT?!!) where every1 knows each other. As with Doctor Who has a weirdness magnet connect to his DNA, this town is wired to the crazy and bizarre. Semi-spoiler: the overweight mayor is taken out his car from a wreck (With a powered crane!!), then the mayor spontaneously combusts. The new mayor (Leigh Taylor-Young) has a surrogate baby mama (who is a COW!! I mean the animal!) [but I believe this happened after season two]. There is NOT a serial killer, but a serial BATHER! (that's in season 1). I, myself enjoy black humour and bizarre plots. Otherwise, this is a really cool series that tackles issues head on. Too bad it only lasted 4 seasons. Also, this show is part medical drama, part legal drama, part police drama, part comedy (ala TWIN PEAKS). in my view, an excellent show. Both leads won at least one Emmy for lead Actor and Actress in a Drama series.Read full review

Great show,slightly better recordings appreciated!
It has been a very long wait for the second series of this show and we all had to wait for the Australians to continue what the Americans Started. The series was one of the best made and tackles moral and social issues in some first rate episodes. As for the quality of the picture it could be better and for some strange reason the American shows made in the eighties and nineties seem to suffer from this more than ones made in previous decades. For all that I am very pleased I bought it and hope the last two series get released too.
