Encoded within the book is a simple 7-step process to create happiness and teaches environmental and social lessons using the power of story. If you have ever wanted to change the world, or even your own personal world, this book is a must read. Adults and children can both enjoy reading Planet Heart and benefit uniquely from exploring the timeless message found in this exciting adventure.
Mary-Ellen Kelly is a Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine who has a tremendous love for the planet and maintains a heightened awareness of the connection between the health of the individual and the health of the planet. She sees the shift to happiness for humanity as a key to saving our planet. Mary-Ellen lives in Cobourg and enjoys walking by the lake with her yellow lab named Gus. The story of Planet Heart was born one night while she was studying for her licensing exams and doodling on a page (yes, a bit distracted). Mary-Ellen suddenly came to the realization that is revealed in the book; this is much more than an earth that we are hurtling through space on. What we call home is magical, transformative and...so are we. Since that day she has been bringing the story of Planet Heart to life. In addition to enjoying her private medical practice of over 15 years, Mary-Ellen has participated in the Lion's Foundation Foster Puppy and Guide Dog program of which her dog Gus has been a student (yes, he failed). She volunteers with Habitat for Humanity, participates in fund raising for non-research based cancer organizations and actively teaches the principles of natural medicine to inspire individuals to lead happy, healthy and conscious lives. She has been a featured presenter at several health and medical conferences across North America and she now speaks to a variety of groups about how to respect our planet and keep it and ourselves healthy. Mary-Ellen lives in Toronto, Canada, and enjoys cycling, cooking healthy foods and walking by the lake with her yellow lab, Gus. Her sincere wish is that every person read this book and make one change to make this world brighter, happier and more at peace.
