This is a collection of poems that I have written about my almost three year old autistic son. I wanted to share these with other parents of autistic children. The hope is that parents may relate to the challenges and triumphs our children may face daily. There are many different characteristics that a child with autism may have. My son is extremely intelligent as are many autistic children. Where he needs special attention is in his social skills. These poems focus on very basic and everyday functions that I found compelling eugh to write about.
Susan Lang is a single mother to an autistic son. She is a very positive and optimistic person. The glass is always half full and the world is her oyster. She is teaching her son that he will become anything that he puts his desire into. Her main goal in life is to prepare her son for a wonderful future. She stresses: manners, cleanliness, organization, education, adventurism, worldliness, art and music importance, history, faith, good eating habits, going beyond, and above all generosity and love!
